Inventory Control Manager

BGDC Distribution is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to oversee and coordinate all daily inventory operations. This role involves ensuring accurate product tracking, efficient order processing, and exceptional service delivery while leading departmental personnel and resolving escalated issues.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established procedures
Verify incoming and outgoing materials against work orders, specifications, and required documentation
Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and root-cause analysis of variances
Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, including damaged, missing, or misplaced product
Estimate material, labor, and time requirements based on work orders, historical data, and operational demands
Communicate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders regarding order status, shipment timing, and delivery schedules
Supervise and support the Inventory Supervisor and Administrative Assistants, ensuring performance expectations and policy compliance are met
Plan and adjust staffing schedules to align resources with workload fluctuations
Prepare, analyze, and maintain reports related to inventory levels, productivity, staffing, and performance metrics
Review production and shipping records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency
Lead regular team meetings to communicate operational priorities, safety reminders, and departmental updates
Evaluate employee performance; provide coaching, feedback, and conduct formal performance appraisals
Partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters, including hiring, promotions, corrective actions, and grievance resolution
Identify training needs and coordinate or deliver instruction to support skill development and operational consistency
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve workflow challenges and implement process improvements
Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and safety requirements
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives

Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations
At least 1 year of supervisory or people leadership experience
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on coaching, accountability, and team development
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced operational environment
Ability to balance customer service expectations with operational priorities and deadlines
High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
