Electrical Engineering Intern

Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (OPT) provides intelligent maritime solutions and services for various markets. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in the electrical design and verification testing of OPT products and systems.

Responsibilities

Assist with the generation and review of schematics, BOMS, and test plans
Help set up test equipment, support testing and data collection
Build and test prototype electronics
Prepare technical reports to document the methodology and results of work performed
Assist with departmental documentation and administrative projects
Perform other tasks as required

Required

Junior or Senior status in a 4-year university pursuing an Electrical/Computer Engineering degree
Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience with electrical assembly, building and testing circuits
Experience with developing test plans, conducting lab testing, and analyzing and presenting results
Experience with programming languages (C, C++, and Python), and /or firmware development for embedded control systems a plus
Familiarity with Orcad and Altium for schematics and PCB layout a plus
Must be a U.S. citizen
