Chemical Engineer
Eaton's Power Components Division is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support their nickel and silver plating operations and chemical processes within their wastewater treatment plant. The role involves maintaining process controls, troubleshooting quality issues, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities
Maintain and update process controls for nickel and silver plating operations to ensure consistent, robust performance
Lead troubleshooting efforts for quality issues across plating lines, implementing corrective actions to resolve adhesion problems, porosity, burning, improper thickness, and other defects
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives using SPC and other analytical tools to enhance plating quality, throughput, and chemical efficiency
Implement productivity and efficiency projects using Lean principles and methodologies
Partner with EHS to ensure strict adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations, including proper handling and management of hazardous waste
Collaborate with wastewater treatment technicians to monitor and maintain equipment performance—including filter presses and pH control systems—to keep all operational parameters within specification
Support EHS programs, including MESH and ISO 14001 requirements, serving as the lead for the Chemical Management MESH element
Identify and correct unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and potential hazards within assigned areas
Work closely with Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science Engineering from an accredited institution

Preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical handling
