Performance Contracting Group is a national employee-owned specialty contractor committed to recruiting and developing employees from diverse backgrounds. They are seeking Financial Operations Interns to support their Financial Operations Department during the summer of 2026, focusing on financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

Analyze the company’s financial performance through preparation and review of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
Communicate financial results to key stakeholders
Develop an understanding of the main drivers of performance
Support the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by working with stakeholders within the business and understanding project flows and timelines
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Participate in special finance projects and initiatives as needed, providing valuable contributions to the team
Attend and participate in staff meetings, Contract in Progress (CIP) meetings, pre-job set-up meetings, progress meetings, and project review meetings

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Completed basic/entry level Business Management and Financial Accounting courses
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Strong oral and written communication skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Ability to work effectively in team environment
Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
Ability to work with cross-functional business partners
Ability to multitask and engage critical thinking & problem-solving skills

Preferred

Preferred Junior or Senior level completion of program
Currently pursuing a concentration in construction or related field
Local to the Kansas City metro area preferred
