Responsibilities
Drive rapid proof‑of‑concept (POC) development to validate ideas, frameworks, and architectural patterns
Partner with VPs and Architects to define, evolve, and maintain Enterprise Architecture, Platform Architecture, Data Architecture, and API strategies
Introduce modern architectural paradigms, best practices, and standardized design patterns across the organization
Lead both high‑level solution design and detailed technical design efforts, including conducting design and architecture reviews
Build foundational components (“rails”) that accelerate development for engineering teams
Provide hands‑on support to engineers and project managers for rapid development, deployment, and troubleshooting
Mentor engineers and solution architects to simplify complex technical concepts and ensure high‑quality, scalable implementations
Participate actively in cross‑team and enterprise‑level architectural and engineering discussions
Work closely with cross-functional leaders to understand business goals, principles, and strategic direction; translate them into scalable technical solutions
Communicate architecture strategy, changes, and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and influence
Qualification
Required
7+ years of strong hands‑on experience in Java with depth in backend or middleware development
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, cloud-native, highly resilient, high-availability platforms
Strong expertise in building high-performance, high-throughput distributed systems
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentation and leadership skills
Ability to influence without formal authority and drive consensus in cross-functional environments
Strong analytical reasoning, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field required
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience with service mesh is preferred
Hands-on experience with some or all of the following: Languages & Frameworks: Java, Go, Vert.x, React
Networking & Communication: Envoy, gRPC, Protobuf
Databases & Storage: Postgres, Couchbase, Cassandra, Redis
DevOps & Tooling: Consul, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitHub Actions
Rules & Observability: Drools, Elastic Stack
Streaming & Data: Kafka, Spark, ML tooling
