Responsibilities
Define and own the overall Java application architecture, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals
Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, and JSP
Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support during the migration to IBM WebSphere
Establish best practices for coding standards, performance, security, and scalability
Review and approve technical designs, code, and deployment strategies
Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis
Mentor and guide development teams on architecture and modern Java practices
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in Java application development, with at least 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role
Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, JSP, and enterprise Java frameworks
Solid understanding of SOA, microservices architecture, and design patterns
Experience designing and deploying applications in application server environments
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Excellent communication and stakeholder-facing skills
Preferred
Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (especially migrations or upgrades)
Experience modernizing legacy Java applications
Familiarity with Spring / Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and messaging frameworks
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
