Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve complex PLC and controls issues impacting production, safety, and equipment reliability
Program, modify, and support PLCs and HMIs for new and existing manufacturing equipment
Lead or support capital projects, including new equipment installations, upgrades, and plant expansions
Commission and start up new automation systems at manufacturing sites
Work directly on the plant floor alongside maintenance, engineering, and operations teams
Support standardized controls architectures and best practices across multiple facilities
Provide technical guidance and hands‑on support during equipment failures and downtime events
Travel to domestic and international manufacturing sites to support projects and troubleshooting efforts
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of hands‑on PLC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience with Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell) and/or Siemens PLC platforms
Proven ability to troubleshoot real‑world, production‑critical automation problems
Experience supporting or leading capital projects involving new machinery or automation upgrades
Comfortable working independently in fast‑paced plant environments
Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ of the time, including international travel
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally with multiple teams
Experience across multiple manufacturing industries (packaging, metals, food, consumer goods, chemicals, etc.)
HMI development experience
Familiarity with industrial networks and protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)
Experience commissioning equipment from OEMs or integrators
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
