Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of OPT’s products that use wave, solar and/or wind power to support ocean-based systems
Carry out theoretical hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, and mooring analyses using commercial software
Prepare and document design specifications, data collection and analysis
Prepare technical reports to document the methodology and results of work performed
Assist with departmental documentation and administrative projects
Perform other tasks as required

Required

Junior or Senior status in a 4-year university pursuing an Engineering degree
Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred

Experience with MATLAB and SolidWorks a plus
Coursework in naval architecture, ocean engineering or related topics
Interest in learning about wave, solar and wind-based energy systems
