Superintendent
Foster Lawson is representing an industry leader in premier heavy civil construction seeking a Heavy Civil Superintendent for their projects in Connecticut. The role involves leading field operations, ensuring high-quality standards in concrete and pile installations, and coordinating various construction activities and crews.
Responsibilities
Thorough understanding and familiarity with heavy civil concrete operations, including cast-in-place concrete, foundations, slabs, walls, and structural concrete
Strong knowledge of pile installation methods, including steel, precast, timber piles, and associated driving equipment and techniques
Familiar with Support of Excavation (SOE) systems as they relate to concrete foundations and pile work
Knowledge of pile layouts, cut-off elevations, tolerances, testing requirements, and coordination with inspectors and engineers
Comprehend and administer our clients corporate safety program which provides for a safe work environment for all self-performed and subcontracted operations
Coordinate concrete pours, pile driving operations, testing agencies, inspectors, and subcontractors
Review drawings, specifications, and means & methods to properly plan and sequence work
Review and agree with inspectors on bid item quantities related to concrete and pile work
Layout and mark-out work for foremen and crews
Ordering and receiving materials in coordination with shop / procurement department
Coordinating labor, equipment, concrete deliveries, cranes, pile rigs, and support equipment
Generate and/or adhere to our clients quality requirements and culture; recognizing the effect of quality on all self-performed operations
Supervise and direct field foremen and multiple labor crews to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project for all self-performed and subcontracted operations
Ability to schedule, plan, and coordinate all concrete and pile work activities
Fully versed and familiar with all local Labor Union rules
Provide timely requests for material and equipment needs necessary to support the work schedule
Manage all self-perform craft on site, including subcontractors as required. General Contracting experience a must
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years' heavy civil experience as a Superintendent
Heavy civil concrete and pile experience
Knowledge of Local NYC unions required
OSHA 30 required
