Staff Software Engineer
Axis RPO is partnering with a high-growth Series C fintech that is building an AI-native operating system for regulated finance. The Staff Software Engineer will play a critical role in designing and building the infrastructure for a highly regulated, massively scaled financial platform.
Responsibilities
Design and build scalable backend systems that operate reliably in a regulated environment
Tackle complex infrastructure and distributed systems challenges from the ground up
Learn new technologies quickly and apply them to evolving product needs
Partner cross-functionally to balance product velocity with technical excellence
Dive deep into one of the most intricate industries in finance and help modernize it
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional software engineering experience in the U.S
Strong backend engineering expertise (frontend-only profiles will not be considered)
Experience at a well-known, high-growth tech or fintech startup
Demonstrated career progression and promotions
Proven ability to build scalable systems quickly and thoughtfully
Strong communicator who collaborates well across Product, Design, and Engineering
Experience with one or more of the following: Web application development
Experience with one or more of the following: Mobile application development
Experience with one or more of the following: Large-scale distributed systems
Experience with one or more of the following: Infrastructure management
Excellent time management in fast-paced startup environments
Preferred
Preferred locations: NYC or San Francisco (hybrid)
Remote (U.S.) candidates considered if currently at a well-known fintech startup (e.g., Stripe)
