Program Specialist (Assistant Fisher House Manager)
The VA St. Louis Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Program Specialist which serves as the Assistant Fisher House Manager (FHM). This role involves on-site management, planning, operation, and administrative coordination of the lodging program for families of Veterans and active-duty military personnel.

Responsibilities
Participates in the development, execution, review, and analysis of the Fisher House Budget
Purchase Card holder
Ensures funds, equipment, and property are protected and accounted for and recommends procurement actions
Implements and reviews established procedures and policies and assists with the development of standard operating procedures
Coordinate the lodging program at the Fisher House and off-site lodging in the absence of the Fisher House Manager
Provides assistance with various automated databases on program operations such as occupancy, referral sources, attending physician, etc
Participate in marketing activities that educate the public about the Fisher House mission
Develop operating procedures related to facility maintenance/repairs and prepares and submits work requests
Interact with a variety of audiences from multiple cultures and generations setting a professional tone

Required

Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment

To qualify for the GS-9: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7
To qualify for the GS-11: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-9
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level
