Responsibilities
Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking
Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions
Conduct remote troubleshooting
Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue
Troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and connection issues
Advising on software or hardware upgrades
Providing basic training on computer operation and management
Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
Report customer feedback and potential product requests
Help create technical documentation and manuals
Monitor network assets for availability and performance
Qualification
Required
Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Specialist, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role
BS in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals
Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
Working knowledge of office automation products like printers and scanners
Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Customer-oriented attitude
Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary
Good written and verbal skills
