EVENTS SUPPORT STAFF

NEOGOV is seeking Events Support Staff to assist in the execution of various city events in Lawrenceville. The role involves providing operational and administrative support during events, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tents, tables, and signage
Assist full-time staff during event execution hours
Provide guest service support and basic event monitoring
Direct all attendees, vendors, contracted performers/vendors, volunteers, event staff, and provide accurate event information
Maintain event-area cleanliness and safety
Direct and Manage event zones and activity areas for large scale events
Oversee event execution for small-scale events
Communicate issues or concerns to the event supervisor
Ensure event timelines and safety standards are met
Complete and submit required Shift Opening/Closing Checklists when working unsupervised
Oversee set up and break down LAC event and rental spaces
Provide front-of-house service for renters and guests
Maintain venue cleanliness throughout the shift
Act as a client liaison under LAC staff supervision
Serve as the on-site venue supervisor and primary point of contact for renters and clients
Execute full opening and closing procedures for the LAC based on rental needs and venue SOPs
Monitor safety, building standards, and guest experience throughout rentals and performances
Direct and oversee any assigned part-time staff during LAC operations
Manage access to doors, dressing rooms, backstage areas, and restricted zones
Escort and support renters, performers, and partners during activities
Document shift operations, issues, and incident reports
Complete and submit all required opening/closing checklists and shift reports after each assignment
All other duties as assigned
Perform clerical tasks, including data entry, supply preparation, and inventory management
Organize signage, materials, and stored event assets
Assist with pre-event logistics and planning tasks
Conduct event research, including sourcing performers, entertainment, and attractions

Required

Knowledge of basic safety and risk-management practices related to public gatherings, venues, and outdoor events
Knowledge of facility operations procedures, including opening/closing processes and access control
Basic knowledge of crowd flow and crowd management principles, especially for community events
Knowledge of emergency response protocols, including evacuation procedures and incident reporting
Familiarity with audio/visual equipment, basic setup, or troubleshooting (for events, LAC, and presentations)
Knowledge of customer service best practices for diverse audiences, renters, performers, and vendors
Basic understanding of custodial standards and venue cleanliness requirements
Knowledge of record-keeping and documentation practices, including shift logs and reports
Skill in time management and working independently, especially during unsupervised shifts
Skill in teamwork and collaboration within a fast-paced, changing environment
Skill in conflict de-escalation and addressing guest or vendor concerns professionally
Ability to multitask during live event operations
Ability to interpret and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for events and venue operations
Ability to learn and use scheduling, ticketing, or reporting software (depending on LAC processes)
Skill in basic technology use, such as tablets, two-way radios, or mobile event apps
Ability to lift and move event equipment safely (if included in physical requirements, this complements it well)
Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years' experience or service
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
