Application Operations (AppOps) Engineer
NLB Services is seeking an Application Operations (AppOps) Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and operational readiness of enterprise applications. The role involves providing hands-on technical support across distributed systems and hybrid cloud platforms, while also focusing on automation, monitoring improvements, and continuous enhancement of high-availability applications.
Responsibilities
Provide hands‑on technical support for production and non‑production applications across multiple platforms (Linux, Unix, or Windows environments)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in multi-tier distributed systems, APIs, web services, and batch/transaction processing environments
Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule, responding to escalations affecting clients, transactions, tokens, batch jobs, file transmissions, and/or internal workflows
Create and enhance monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and health checks using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, ExtraHop)
Implement and automate operational tasks including deployments, environment validation, job monitoring, error detection, and alert remediation
Support release deployments, configuration updates, change management activities, and fallbacks during maintenance windows
Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to ensure applications are production‑ready
Analyze production incidents, identify patterns, and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA), preventive actions, and continuous improvement
Maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, runbooks, and support procedures
Support capacity planning, performance tuning, stability initiatives, and ongoing modernization efforts
