Responsibilities

Support the mission of the Academic Resource Center
Assist with First-Year Experience programming, coordination, and communication
Serve as the instructor for Uni 101- Pathways sections
Meet regularly with Uni 092- Academic Coaching and Uni 093- Academic Management Seminar students
Coach students on a regular basis who are seeking guidance in the areas of reading skills, note-taking skills, test taking skills, study skills, etc
Develop academic action plans for students as needed
Work with faculty to establish academic goals for students
Support students as they strive to achieve their academic goals
Attend workshops related to student success
Advise first-year students in the scheduling of their classes and their long-term success
Track student grades and proactively advise/coach as needed
Communicate the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates
Answer questions concerning faith, doctrine and creed of BJU to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJU

Required

Knowledge of BJU academic program
Knowledge of educational theories and learning styles in post-secondary learning environments
Knowledge of the literature on college student success
Self-motivated
Ability to identify, define, and evaluate problems; and develop appropriate strategies and solutions
Ability to work with administrators, faculty, staff, GAs, and students from diverse backgrounds
Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to make effective oral and written presentations. Proven ability to effectively and professionally communicate using tact and diplomacy
An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
