Community Correctional Intern, Grade S1

Montgomery County is dedicated to providing community-based correctional and treatment services through its Pre-Release and Reentry Services Division. The Community Correctional Intern will support various programs focusing on assessment, case management, and community monitoring for adult offenders.

Responsibilities

Screening, intake, and supervision of Residents
Adjustment Board Member
Support Case Managers, Work Release Coordinators, and Career Resource Center staff
Conduct community-based on-site verifications
Develop and supervise recreational, MVA, and Social Security trips
Treatment Team Member, urinalysis collection and testing; crisis intervention and data collection
Pre-Trial Assessment
Pre-Trial Supervision
Alternative Community Services (ACA)
Intervention for Substance Abusers (IPSA) programs

Required

Completion of two (2) years of college in the social science, human services, or criminal justice fields
Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class 'C' (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence
Individuals appointed to a position in this class must be at least eighteen (18) years of age on the date of appointment

Preferred

Preference in scheduling interviews will be given to those currently enrolled in school or who have recently graduated with a human services related major (i.e., criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, rehabilitation, counseling) and/or who clearly state their interest in pursuing a career in a human services related field to include employment/vocational counseling, counseling, and psychology
