Marathon TS is seeking a part-time Contracts SME/ Consultant to support their client in a fully remote work environment. The role involves providing senior-level federal contracting and acquisition support, including compliance, negotiation, document management, and contract lifecycle administration.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements (e.g., DFARS), and applicable corporate policies
Interpret and advise on contractual requirements, regulatory changes, and risk implications
Identify and mitigate organizational and contractual conflicts of interest (OCI)
Lead contract negotiations with government customers, subcontractors, and partners
Resolve contractual disputes, clarify terms and conditions, and facilitate agreement between parties
Support strategy development for competitive proposals, sole-source actions, and contract modifications
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of contractual documents, including:
Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
Teaming Agreements (TAs)
Subcontract Agreements (including flowdowns)
Prime Contracts and Task Orders
Modifications, options, and closeout documentation
Maintain organized records and contract files in accordance with internal standards
Oversee subcontractor and supplier contracting actions, ensuring compliance with prime contract requirements
Conduct reviews of subcontractor deliverables and contractual performance
Provide guidance on supplier selection, risk assessment, and corrective actions when needed
Deliver training to internal staff regarding subcontracting policies, compliance, and contract processes
Provide full lifecycle support for awarded contracts and subcontracts, including:
Kickoff and onboarding activities
Contract interpretation and compliance guidance
Modifications, funding actions, and task order management
Deliverable tracking and documentation
Closeout activities and audit support
Serve as a primary point of contact for contractual correspondence with Contracting Officers (CO), CORs, and subcontractors
Support capture and proposal teams through review of solicitations, evaluation of risk and compliance, and preparation of contractual volumes and narratives
Participate in pricing strategy discussions as needed, identifying contractual risks and recommended mitigations
Provide regular status updates on contract actions, risks, and outstanding items
Prepare recommendations, decision papers, and briefing materials for leadership
Ensure coordination and information sharing across Steel Point and its affiliated entities as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Senior-level federal contracting and acquisition support experience
Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplements (e.g., DFARS)
Ability to interpret and advise on contractual requirements and regulatory changes
Experience in identifying and mitigating organizational and contractual conflicts of interest (OCI)
Experience leading contract negotiations with government customers, subcontractors, and partners
Ability to resolve contractual disputes and clarify terms and conditions
Experience supporting strategy development for competitive proposals, sole-source actions, and contract modifications
Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a variety of contractual documents
Ability to maintain organized records and contract files
Experience overseeing subcontractor and supplier contracting actions
Ability to conduct reviews of subcontractor deliverables and contractual performance
Experience providing guidance on supplier selection and risk assessment
Experience delivering training to internal staff regarding subcontracting policies and compliance
Experience providing full lifecycle support for awarded contracts and subcontracts
Ability to serve as a primary point of contact for contractual correspondence
Experience supporting capture and proposal teams through review of solicitations
Ability to prepare recommendations, decision papers, and briefing materials for leadership
Strong communication skills for providing regular status updates on contract actions
