Court Services Supervisor 2- Probation Division

NEOGOV is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to work as a Court Services Supervisor 2 in the Probation Division for the New Jersey Judiciary. The role involves supervising probation staff, generating statistical reports, and maintaining relationships with treatment providers to ensure effective services for clients.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision of staff assigned to probation supervision, which includes providing coaching and mentoring of staff. Evaluate and determine trainings needs of staff. Address staff deficiencies and monitor compliance with judiciary policies and procedures
Generate and evaluate statistical reports based on enhanced outcome-based supervision guidelines, which includes but is not limited to monitoring successful completion of risk assessments and ensuring clients are supervised in accordance to risk levels. Monitoring appropriate application of CCP tools, structure response grid, incentives, and sanctions to achieve positive behavior change
Review reports submitted to court such as violations of probation, early discharge requests, and other needed documents. Address any requests directly made by Judges or their staff
Foster and maintain relationships with treatment providers, community organizations, and the other agencies to guarantee the best possible services for clients
Ensure all clients sentenced to probation in Essex are fully instructed on their requirements while on probation and that all relevant paperwork from the Criminal Division is processed efficiently and timely
Supervise and coordinate the diversified work activities of a team composed of professional, paraprofessional, and/or clerical staff, ensuring that the policies and procedures of the organization are carried out in a timely and effective manner
Duties include but are not limited to, regulating, and directing the flow of work within the team, and between teams, in accordance with operating schedules; instruct, mentor, coach, evaluate, provide opportunities for skill building, advocacy, and accountability to team members on work related matters; providing feedback in a constructive manner that promotes professional development; conducting formal work performance evaluations; providing training; developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners; and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings with internal and external stakeholders and leading facilitating meetings

The selected candidate must provide direction for achieving organizational, unit and project goals and must possess strong leadership, a dedication to effective implementation, and a passion for ensuring fidelity to the Criminal mission, strong communication, interpersonal, computer, and project managements skills. Performs related duties as required. Appointee may be assigned to work within the Recovery Court or Criminal Case Management unit
Selected candidate may be required to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or holidays
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders
Cover letter preferred but not required
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits
An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above
Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
