6+ years expNew York Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in SQL Server administration, data modeling, and data architecture. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise SQL Server environments, while also leading the design and documentation of data models and data architecture to support business operations and analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments
Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups
Perform backups, restores, indexing strategies, integrity checks, and security audits
Monitor database performance and system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues
Automate monitoring and detection of anomalous activity to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and policies
Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and analytics requirements
Develop and evolve enterprise data architecture, including data integration, data movement, and storage strategies
Reverse-engineer existing schemas, perform data profiling, and evaluate data models for optimization opportunities
Define, document, and enforce data architecture standards and best practices
Create and maintain data flow diagrams and architecture documentation using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or ERWIN
Apply and promote modeling standards, including normalization, star schema, data vault, and third normal form (3NF)
Collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions
Provide guidance and technical leadership on database and data architecture decisions
Qualification
Required
6+ years of hands-on experience administering SQL Server databases (2012, 2014, 2019, and newer)
3+ years of experience in enterprise-level data modeling and data architecture
Strong experience creating data flows and architecture diagrams
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell for scripting and automation
Experience with data modeling tools such as ERWIN or equivalent platforms
Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Experience administering and optimizing Snowflake environments
Experience with SQL Server on Azure, including managed SQL instances
Background working in regulated or data-intensive industries
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data management best practices
