Data Engineer

Their client, To The New, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support data platform development, reporting, and analytics initiatives. The role involves designing, building, testing, and supporting scalable data pipelines and reporting solutions while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Define system scope and objectives aligned with business requirements and industry standards
Develop, enhance, and maintain database queries, reports, and dashboards
Analyze data and create supporting datasets to identify root causes and solve business problems
Triage issues across the data platform in development, QA, and production environments
Test data pipelines in staging/QA environments and support deployments to production
Work closely with business, product, and technical stakeholders to resolve data and reporting issues
Create and manage Incident and Change Requests (ServiceNow) related to data pipelines
Support data architecture, ETL pipeline development, automation, and scheduling activities
Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and user guides in Confluence
Follow best practices to support CI/CD, optimized development, and continuous improvement
Maintain data quality by implementing automated query checks and validation frameworks
Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis (few days per month) for critical data loads and releases
Qualification
Required
4 6 years of hands-on experience in data software development
Strong experience applying software engineering best practices (scalable system design, modular development, version control, unit testing, and documentation)
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services, including: Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue
Working knowledge of GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
