Responsibilities
Support the editorial tasks of the team, including reporting and writing articles for the website and taking on tasks necessary for the operation of the team
Pitching and executing daily general assignment Digital text stories, turning around stories with speed and accuracy
Collaborating with newsgathering and ABC News Digital’s editorial seniors, as well as the various teams we work with, including for photos, graphics, videos, as well as our platforms and social teams
Support the production of Digital stories, including templating notes from reporting teams or checking transcripts against tape
Qualification
Required
Text news writing experience
Ability to write clean copy on a deadline
Portfolio with examples of news writing
Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing journalism/English degree
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, generally from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm ET (with occasional shift changes as news coverage requires)
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Experience with web publishing, SEO and AP style
