Director of Commercial Business Development
Goodrich Human Capital is a rapidly growing company in the HVAC industry, and they are seeking a Director of Business Development to launch and lead its commercial market expansion in North Carolina and South Carolina. This role involves driving sales of mini-split systems and building a commercial sales function from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for commercial sales expansion
Identify, pursue, and manage relationships with contractors, developers, builders, and key stakeholders
Own the full sales cycle, including lead generation, bidding, negotiation, and close
Build partnerships with government agencies, housing authorities, landlord associations, and trade organizations
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing commercial sales team
Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations leadership to align resources, budgets, and growth plans
Collaborate closely with senior sales leadership to ensure alignment with overall company strategy
Establish scalable sales processes, forecasting models, and performance reporting
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to generate leads and stay ahead of market trends
Qualification
Required
10+ years of commercial sales experience, including 3+ years selling HVAC systems, mini-splits, or related solutions
Strong track record of winning and managing large commercial bids and projects
Experience building and leading high-performing sales teams
Established industry network and comfort working with public-sector and association partners
Entrepreneurial, self-directed leader who thrives in a growth-oriented environment
