Supply Chain Specialist

Responsibilities
Assists in communication appropriately throughout the facility with procedure department leadership physicians and specialty team leaders to establish supply chain strategies to optimize work flow discuss product availability cost controls and develop strategic plans for standardization and savings opportunities
Assists in the development of the department supply budget and manages resources according to approved budget. Focusing efforts on the reduction of special orders and non-contract purchases
Communicates all supply related issues to include back orders discontinued items recall information item file changes and substitutes to the appropriate clinical team member
Conducts mid-year and annual performance evaluations including the establishment and monitoring of individual and team goals for all direct reports when applicable
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations
Establishes and implements processes/procedures for loaner items and consignment products
Oversees and executes processes involved in inventory counting reordering and stocking goods in an efficient and timely manner while adhering to established order cut-off times so that all necessary products are available when needed
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate
Processes all implant requests through Purchasing daily maintain appropriate documentation and reconciles monthly implant log to purchase order history if applicable
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the MedStar organization
Responsible for adequately maintaining inventory levels sufficient to meet customer needs within efficient and practical financial guidelines and through routine reviews of min/max and Par level review
Serves as the primary contact for all manufacturer/vendor representative relations to include oversight of consignment inventories new product submissions demos back order resolution acceptable substitutes returns price changes and contract compliance
Serves as the supply chain liaison for resolving patient billing errors in assigned departments

Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED, required
Demonstrated work history of critical thinking problem solving effective communication and customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Windows based computer applications such as MS Office
Proven history of project management multi-tasking self-motivation and attention to detail
Preferred
College degree, preferred
Three plus years previous management and/or supervisory experience and experience in a healthcare environment, preferred
