CFD Combustion Engineer
Motive Workforce is a premier high-performance motorsport engineering organization seeking an experienced CFD Combustion Engineer to own advanced combustion simulations for internal combustion engines. This role involves running and analyzing combustion CFD simulations, modeling ignition physics, and developing automation tools for efficiency.
Responsibilities
Run and analyze advanced combustion CFD simulations (CONVERGE CFD or equivalent) on Linux HPC systems
Model ignition physics, chemical kinetics, injector sprays, and knock behavior
Develop automation tools and scripts to improve CFD efficiency
Create and refine novel modeling methods for complex combustion problems
Define test methods and instrumentation for model validation
Communicate results clearly to engineering and non-technical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
5 – 7 years of combustion CFD or engine simulation experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering
Strong expertise in engine combustion modeling and detailed kinetics
Experience with direct injection spray modeling
Comfortable working in Linux HPC environments
Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to own technical deliverables
Preferred
STAR-CCM+, CATIA V5
Python, MATLAB, or Java
DoE / optimization tools (HEEDS, iSight)
CHT or FEA exposure
