Responsibilities
Provide high quality customer service to patrons in a confidential manner via various communication methods, and a focus on circulation, technology and readers’ advisory
Perform functions related to the circulation of library materials such as check library materials in/out, library card registration, curbside service delivery, alphabetical and Dewey Decimal System sorting, collect fines and fees, and shelve library materials
Answer basic reference questions and refer more detailed inquiries to professional staff
Participate in the maintenance of the library collection and inventory such as making minor repairs to library materials and equipment and bringing non-working or poor condition items to the attention of appropriate staff
Receive and process all incoming/outgoing mail, parcels and shipments
Complete opening and closing procedures as directed
Plan, prioritize, and organize workloads and assignments
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong customer service and communication skills required, preferably in a public library setting
Preferred
Three (3) or more year's customer service experience
