Responsibilities

Source and evaluate acquisitions/divestitures, investments and JV opportunities aligned with Guardian’s strategic priorities
Lead end-to-end transaction processes, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring
Develop investment cases and secure approvals through Guardian’s governance process
Negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements in collaboration with legal and finance teams
Analyze industry trends and competitive dynamics to inform inorganic growth strategy
Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers, advisors, and industry executives to generate deal flow
Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and the Board
Partner with business leaders and integration teams to ensure successful post-close execution and synergy realization
Mentor junior team members and help develop the team as a talent pipeline for Guardian

Required

Bachelor's degree (Finance, Economics, Business or related field); MBA or CFA preferred
10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and/or corporate development
Sector expertise within Financial Services or Insurance required
Meaningful M&A transaction experience
Very strong quantitative and analytical skills (including proven ability to build models from scratch and modify models crafted by others)
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work well independently under pressure and to tight deadlines, and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
Strong communication skills effectively (both oral and written), especially with senior and board level leadership
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, organizational savvy and judgment; ability to navigate at all levels of the organization and achieve goals with matrix teams and resources
