Responsibilities

Engage in the entire design cycle of fluid subsystems including conceptual design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support
Collaborate with many internal stakeholders to define requirements, dependencies, and schedule needs associated with delivering integrated fluid systems
Lead team-based identification, decomposition, and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle fluids hardware development
Manage project schedule, resources, and cost – present status of effort, including risks, variances and recovery plans to program management
Work to continuously improve the team processes and manage team assignments to move quickly while meeting human space flight standards
Perform procurement, integration support, and discrepancy resolution
Oversee fluid component and subsystem level testing including test planning, test execution, data reduction, and analysis
Create and modify drawings, specifications, and other documentation
Support procurement activities to support vehicle build schedules

Required

Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
3+ years of industry experience in detail design / development of aerospace or equivalent-type fluid systems and project management
Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings
Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes and quality control relative to tubes/piping and machined components
Working knowledge of materials and treatments
Experience leading at least 1 multi-person development project, managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, cost, and communications
Experience and ability to work independently on rapid development programs

Preferred

Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping) and PDM (Windchill)
Knowledge in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred)
Knowledge of the application and use of welding
Experience with high pressure and cryogenic systems
Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
