Responsibilities
Assist in the supervision, training, motivation and evaluation of camp staff
Assists in counselor-in-training program for kids ages 13-15 years' old
Responsible for the safety and well-being of campers
Ensure that all staff is following the handbook
Assist in the development of the daily schedule and as ensure that all aspects are followed appropriately and in a positive way (electives, special programs, daily events). Assist in the supervision and organization of all camp field trips
Consult with staff regularly to ensure programs are valuable, attitudes are positive, and to maintain good relations with them
Assist in guiding staff through self-evaluation process and camp programs
Work cooperatively with fellow Camp Director, Assistant Director, Camp Counselors, maintenance staff, and parents
Maintains discipline with children during all activities under the guidelines of the handbook
Follows all City of League City policies and procedures
Keeps the Camp Director appraised of situations requiring his/her attention
Attends trainings, seminars and meetings as required
Performs other job-related duties as requested and necessary
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years or older
Experience with kids 5-15 years old
Minimum 3 months of supervision experience
Ability to swim (This role involves work in and around water; therefore, candidates must be able to swim confidently. All staff will participate in water field trips and swim days in the water.)
Preferred
Previous camp experience preferred
CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
21 years or older
Commit to all sessions of camp: May 11 - August 7
