Engineering Controls Manager-Kiewit Nuclear Solutions-Lenexa, KS
Kiewit is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating across North America. The Engineering Controls Manager will support a Design Engineering project team with various aspects of Operational Project Controls including accounting, scheduling, and finance related functions, while also assisting in preparing financial reporting for project management.
Responsibilities
Recognize the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs and helping in other areas as needed
Foster relationships with the Engineering & Design team and show a willingness to learn about the work
Understand past-cost comparable concepts, such as the use of past-cost account code structures for various scopes of work
Assist in the creation of Engineering Project estimates by identifying required scopes, quantities, manhours, costs, and project revenues
Review spent hours, incurred expense costs, quantity claiming, budget structure, exception reports, and schedule progression curves, while making appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management
Identify, adjust, and review financial forecast & budget issues within Kiewit standard financial summary reports
Assist in standing up new projects within Kiewit standard tools for Project Execution
Qualification
Required
2-7 years of Project Controls, Data Analyst, Finance Manager, or Schedule Engineer experience
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and/or similar field of study
Fluent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Extensive experience with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions
Comfortable reading and understanding PowerBi reporting dashboards
Strong communicator (both oral and written), with an emphasis on organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail with a strong mindset for data-driven decision making
Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate for continuous improvement
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future
Preferred
Previous internship experience is preferred
