Payroll and Benefits Manager
Quest Financial is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee multi-state payroll operations and benefits administration. This strategic role involves ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality while partnering with Finance and Human Resources to support organizational growth.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Review and approve payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and manage year-end processes (W-2/W-2C)
Oversee payroll tax compliance and filings in partnership with ADP
Serve as primary contact for ADP and payroll vendors; support audits and internal controls
Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements
Administer health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, and 401(k)
Manage enrollments, deductions, eligibility, and lead annual open enrollment
Reconcile benefit invoices and partner with carriers on claims and service issues
Support compliance programs including Workers’ Comp, FMLA, ERISA, and regulatory reporting
Prepare payroll and benefits reports to support close, budgeting, and forecasting
Maintain advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and HRIS/timekeeping systems
Provide training and support to managers and employees on payroll and benefits processes
Act as subject matter expert and escalation point for payroll and benefits matters
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state regulations
Maintain strict confidentiality and strong internal controls
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of multi-state payroll and benefits experience
Hands-on payroll leader with strong problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel and ADP Workforce Now experience required
Strong knowledge of payroll, tax, and benefits regulations
Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a hybrid environment
