Responsibilities

Addresses problems with and answers inquiries about criminal history offense submissions
Deals with requests from law enforcement and the Michigan Department of Corrections relating to the interpretation and correction of criminal histories
Serves as the first level of contact with data-submitting agencies seeking to correct data that they have submitted electronically
Makes modifications to electronically submitted arrest and conviction data as well as corrections of problems identified in internal processing
Works with data providers to determine what changes need to be made to ensure record accuracy
Makes corrections on both Michigan and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history records

Required

Education typically acquired through completion of high school
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement
Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement
This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police
