Responsibilities

Provide program and district managers with accurate and timely financial information
Review and analyze accounts and evaluate account balances, trends, and conditions to provide guidance to operating officials addressing project fund requirements and makes recommendation to managers and higher authority for additional requirements
Prepare, analyze, and review accounting data in CEFMS to ensure accuracy and propriety of accounts
Prepare, analyze, and review accounting reports submitted to HQUSACE, U.S. Treasury, Army, GAO, and CEMVD

Basic Requirement for 0510 series: (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting professional accounting theories and principles to provide comprehensive management accounting advice and recommendations to managers at all levels; providing specialized reports to District managers and submitting financial reports to the command; utilizing automated accounting/reporting systems to resolve system related problems
Education for GS-07: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
Education for GS-07: Superior Academic Achievement based on class standing, GPA, or honor society membership
Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes using accounting principles, concepts, and methods to control financial expenditures and keep obligations within established limits, AND providing professional accounting analysis or advice to or for a financial service or accounting firm
Education for GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to provide professional accounting services and advice related to interpreting and evaluating accounting and financial data; tracking, analyzing, and reporting on financial activities; monitoring the effectiveness of internal accounting controls and systems; analyzing a wide variety of incoming and outgoing documents to identify complex system problems; and preparing reports and statements as required by management and higher authorities
Education for GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
