PBF Energy Inc. is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, and they are seeking a talented Commercial Analyst Physical Gasoline & Distillate to join their team. This role will support the physical gasoline and distillate trading business by analyzing system position, exposures, and P&L drivers across supply, blending, storage, and distribution.

Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate system position for gasoline and distillate across locations, grades, and time periods

Analyze daily and monthly P&L, identifying drivers including changes in basis differentials, structure, blending economics, freight, quality, and inventory effects

Provide direct, trader-facing feedback on position performance and execution results

Support management of length/short exposure, inventory positions, and timing risk

Reconcile physical movements, inventories, and hedges to ensure accurate position and P&L reporting

Analyze location spreads, prompt structure, and logistics constraints impacting physical barrels

Support prompt-month close and explain P&L versus expectations

Identify system or data issues impacting position accuracy, escalate, and prosecute remedy as needed

Work closely with scheduling, operations, risk, and accounting teams

Required

2+ years of experience in refined products trading support, commercial analytics, or risk

Strong understanding of gasoline and distillate physical economics, including basis, freight, blending, and inventory impacts

Solid grasp of physical P&L mechanics and hedged positions

Advanced Excel skills; experience with trading/scheduling systems preferred

Comfortable in a fast-paced, trader-facing environment

This position is on site 5 days a week
