Administrative Specialist (Interim)
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Administrative Specialist to lead research on the history of enslavement at state park sites. This role focuses on uncovering, documenting, and interpreting the lives and contributions of enslaved individuals to ensure inclusive storytelling.

Responsibilities
Conducting archival research using estate, census, property, and personal records
Developing accurate and accessible public content for exhibits, tours, and digital platforms
Collaborating with park staff and community partners to ensure historical integrity
Qualification
Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
One year of professional, administrative, or business experience
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Preferred
Strong background in 19th-century history and archival research
Skilled in interpreting historical documents and translating findings for public audiences
Degree in History, Public History, African American Studies, or similar (Master's preferred)
