They are seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to lead the Firm’s financial operations and provide strategic financial insight while overseeing accounting, billing, payroll, budgeting, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present monthly financial statements, dashboards, and performance reports
Develop the annual Firm budget, monitor performance against budget, and analyze variances in revenue and expenses
Conduct monthly general ledger account analyses to ensure accuracy and financial integrity
Maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls over all accounting and financial matters
Oversee the Firm’s monthly billing process, ensuring accuracy, and timeliness
Ensure accounts receivable are collected promptly, working proactively with attorneys and staff to address issues
Ensure accounts payable are processed and paid timely, maintaining strong cash management
Oversee payroll processing and all payroll-related taxes, benefits, and reporting
Manage employee-related financial matters including benefits administration, compensation structures, paid time off, and related expenses
Serve as a resource on employee relations issues
Oversee and manage relationships with the Firm’s vendors, negotiating terms and monitoring performance and costs
Maintain and coordinate the Firm’s relationship with external accountants, including tax and compliance matters
Leverage strong technical skills in Excel, legal billing software, and law firm management platforms (e.g., Caret or similar systems)
Regularly evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and processes for efficiency and scalability

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Experience in law firm finance or professional services finance
Understanding of legal billing, trust accounting, and law firm financial structures

High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Professional, discreet, positive, and collaborative leadership style
