Field Applications Engineer- Power Semiconductors

The Field Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to customers in the NA Eastern Region, aiming to increase design wins and enhance company competitiveness through close customer relationships and effective communication.

Responsibilities
Work closely with customers at the product concept and design level to ensure that the customer has the necessary information to facilitate design-in of our power semiconductor products
Develop close relationships with customers and sales reps to enhance Company image and competitiveness and uncover new application opportunities
Coordinate product qualifications for customers in a timely and efficient manner through communication with pertinent Factory, Engineering, Quality and Sales Reps
Conduct on-site product application seminars and training for key customers, sales reps and distributors
Maintain and update the New Product Opportunity (NBO) / Top Opportunities reports monthly
Coordinate regional trips with the RSM in conjunction with specific customer or Rep requirements
Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure accurate and timely responses to product quality issues
Other duties as assigned
Provides technical feedback to the Product Marketing and Engineering Teams regarding customer application needs for new product development
Provide internal Littelfuse training as required
Coordinate and schedule monthly conference calls with the Product Marketing Team and Regional management
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering
Five to Ten years+ of experience in Power Electronics Applications Engineering and customer interface as well as knowledge of electronics test lab equipment and reliability/quality metrics related to semiconductors
Strong background in Power Electronic semiconductor devices and circuit topologies
Technical understanding of Circuit Protection a plus
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required due to high customer interaction, via phone, e-mail and direct contact
Proficiency in MS Office and Windows required
The ability to travel is a must (approximately 50% travel, some international)
