This role will oversee the accurate preparation and submission of state and federal tax forms, implement tax strategies, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to facilitate the preparation and review of federal tax returns and ensure the timely and accurate filing of all tax forms
Ensure timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as other business-related filings
Identify and implement process improvements within tax procedures
Develop and execute strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes
Work closely with the accounting team to prepare components of the federal income tax return and other tax-related documents
Manage the overall tax return calendar and coordinate timing with the Corporate Controller
Maintain effective control procedures for all aspects of the tax process
Oversee and manage IRS income tax audits, including preparing responses and creating solutions
Monitor and communicate changes in tax legislation and develop strategies to adapt to those changes
Support internal audits and special tax-related projects
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
Assist with month-end schedules and duties as needed
Perform special projects and process improvements as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
4-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a mid-sized company
Strong accounting, analytical, and research abilities
Proficiency in Great Plains or similar ERP systems
In-depth knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and LLC procedures
Skilled in project management and prioritization of tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Knowledge of GAAP compliance
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred
CPA license preferred
Previous M&A experience would be ideal
