Environmental Scientist - CWA Section 404/401
Timmons Group is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist for their Environmental Group located in Richmond, VA. The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for the development, submission, processing, and negotiation of permits associated with impacts to federal and state waters.

Responsibilities
Work with environmental staff in developing all aspects of Joint Permit Applications
Interacting with Senior Scientists and Project Managers to better understand project components necessary for project permitting and completion
Interacting and communicating with regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, and others
Qualification
Required
Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Environmental Law, or policy related discipline
Two to Four years of Environmental Science required
Must have experience in the Natural Resources field with an emphasis on wetland and stream permitting and its associated regulatory processes involving but not limited to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC), and local wetland boards (LWB)
Firm understanding of regulatory processes related to surface waters in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Must be organized and possess strong verbal and technical writing skills, and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans
Preferred
Understanding of regulations associated with threatened and endangered species, as well as cultural resources is a plus
