Responsibilities
Manage the full client billing lifecycle, from pre-bill review through final invoice submission, utilizing CaretLegal and/or Timeslips
Responsible for all aspects of client billing, including editing and creating bills
Partner closely with attorneys and legal support teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely billing
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail
Support a high volume of sophisticated billing matters while maintaining consistency with client guidelines and firm policies
Create and update clients, matters and timekeepers in systems
Process various time and costs charges
Ensure accurate and timely payment processing
Monitor aging reports
Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure adherence to payment terms
Address and resolve any disputes or issues related to invoices or payments
Provide various ad-hoc financial information to partners, clients and within the department
Participate in the monthly closings and reporting as required
Interact and respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff
Assist with special projects as needed
Other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
3+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm environment
Strong working knowledge of legal billing platforms, matter/document management platforms (Worldox/NetDocs) Excel, Word and Adobe
Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative professional who performs well in a deadline-driven setting
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Preferred
Accounting degree preferred
