Law Practice
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and organize pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and correspondence
Prepare and file documents through the New Jersey eCourts system, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements and local rules
Track and manage litigation deadlines, including Discovery End Dates (DED), motion return dates, arbitration hearings, and trial dates
Prepare and file motions, including motions to extend discovery, motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limine
Coordinate and schedule depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and expert examinations
Manage the full discovery process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions
Manage case files in Filevine, including maintaining deadlines and tracking case progress
Request, organize, and summarize medical records and bills
Coordinate with medical providers, experts, and insurance adjusters
Prepare demand packages, mediation statements, and arbitration submissions
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial binders
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in personal injury
Thorough knowledge of New Jersey Court Rules, civil litigation procedures, and case progression from filing through trial
Proficiency with New Jersey eCourts filing system, including electronic case management and document submission
Extensive experience managing Discovery End Dates, drafting and responding to all forms of discovery, and coordinating depositions
Strong familiarity with motion practice, including summary judgment motions, discovery-related motions, and trial motions
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience with Filevine case management software
Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program
Experience with personal injury arbitration and mediation proceedings
