Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with client account management team to implement Client Medicaid strategies
Act on behalf of client as account managers if needed
Coordinate with company clinical pharmacist advisor to track product access and clinical criteria
Will advise and make recommendations on any modifications needed to Medicaid strategy
Issues and action plans will be reviewed and approved by client during a weekly conference call
Will support/participate in client internal presentations including Medicaid strategy and related requests
Interpret State Medicaid policy as related to product access
Identify coverage/access issues related to product access
Develop post-launch Strategic Action Plan for Medicaid channel on behalf of client
Develop Medicaid channel Goals Objectives Strategy and Tactics in coordination with client
Prepare pull through strategy for sales teams in select markets as needed
Will execute the Medicaid strategy as collaboratively developed with client
Will engage states/PBMs via phone/email/face-to-face as needed when executing specific action plans
Will coordinate state/PBM engagement with client’s MSLs
Assist client with preparation for public testimonies at State P&T/DUR meetings
Assist in the development of pull through strategies for clients as needed
Meet with clients on a regular basis to report status and assist client with plans of action to resolve coverage issues
Teach and train on Medicaid concepts on an ongoing basis
Hold business/performance review for client leadership
Will be expected to travel when necessary for business purposes
Participate in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Provide support across various functions and contributing to tasks outside of primary responsibilities as needed to support team objectives
Qualification
Required
B.S. Degree in business or healthcare related field
5+ years' experience within Medicaid payer and/or pharmacy benefit management or 10+ years' experience within pharmaceutical/biotech industry market access Medicaid channel
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Communication/presentation skills which demonstrate credibility, expertise within the Medicaid payor channel
Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness
Ability to think strategically, make informed decisions, and develop actionable plans aligned with client goals
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict constructively
Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze data and develop strategic plans to meet business needs
Ability to work cross functionally with internal teams as well as collaborate and partner with external client teams to effectively position company as an extension of the client's market access team
