Responsibilities

Planning, scheduling and authorization of operation activities in the assigned facility through the use of the Plan of the Day (POD)
Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, environmental regulations, operational safety requirements, technical safety requirements, Criticality Safety Approvals (CSAs), Criticality Safety Requirements (CSRs) and health and safety requirements
Reviewing/approving shift round sheets and facility system status board; maintaining facility narrative logbook ensuring accuracy and adequacy; routinely touring operations areas to observe equipment, operating conditions, maintenance and housekeeping status
Ensuring proper configuration and authorization for status changes to major equipment and systems is maintained and communicated to appropriate managers, supervisors, and personnel
Providing on-call coverage for assigned weekend/off-hour activities, affecting the facility and/or operating equipment/systems, as needed to support the facility mission deliverables and/or other research and development (R&D) activities

Required

Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
This position may be categorized as a 'designated position' identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination

As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter
