Responsibilities
Develop and maintain firmware across embedded Linux platforms and device drivers
Build and optimize firmware applications for device and gateway platforms, with a focus on performance, power efficiency, and reliability
Develop internal tools for data collection, diagnostics, testing, and validation
Investigate issues, determine root causes, implement fixes, and document resolutions
Participate in technical reviews of hardware, firmware, and software requirements
Create architecture, design, and detailed technical documentation
Collaborate with SQA to approve test/validation methods
Support product integration across gateways, cameras, BLE devices, edge systems, and cloud services
Build firmware supporting BLE, Wi‑Fi, RF, and modern IoT protocols (MQTT, WebSockets, REST)
Integrate with edge gateways using containerized applications (Docker), device‑management agents, and OTA update systems
Support data ingestion pipelines to cloud analytics and AI/ML platforms (Azure/GCP)
Work with cross‑functional teams to enable sensor fusion, data streaming, and APIs connecting edge devices to backend systems
Contribute to long‑term modernization of the embedded stack, including Linux optimizations, secure boot, diagnostics, and telemetry
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of embedded software design and development experience
5+ years of experience in in C/C++, Python, and Linux-based development
5+ years of experience with embedded Linux internals: kernel, U-Boot, drivers
Familiarity with Yocto or other embedded Linux build systems
Experience with containerization tools (Docker or Kubernetes)
Experience with wireless systems (BLE, Wi-Fi, RF) and communication protocol design
Strong debugging and test-automation skills; familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc
Experience with performance optimization, memory footprint reduction, and low-power design
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
Experience with edge gateways (Intel/ARM SBCs, containers, virtualization)
Knowledge of IoT device-to-cloud architectures (Azure IoT, GCP IoT Core equivalents)
Understanding of sensor fusion, computer-vision pipelines, or edge deployment
Experience with secure device management, OTA updates, and remote diagnostics
Background in retail, industrial IoT, or safety-critical embedded systems
