Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for behavioral health patients
Monitor patient behavior, mental status, and response to treatment, reporting changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, standards of care, and facility policies
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other care team members
Provide patient and family education related to mental health conditions and treatment plans
Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient safety initiatives
Qualification
Required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska or compact-eligible
Current BLS certification
Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
Preferred
Prior experience in Behavioral Health, Psychiatry, or Mental Health Nursing preferred
