Director of Manufacturing Operations

Responsibilities

Develops and executes annual and long term (5-year) manufacturing plans aligned to overall business strategy and operational objectives to meet delivery schedules, quality benchmarks, and cost objectives
Ensures 100% compliance with ATF, DCMA, and DoD regulations. Maintain an industry-leading safety program tailored to the handling of energetic materials and hazardous processes
Implements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve yields, and shorten lead times
Oversees plant maintenance, equipment upgrades, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects to ensure the facility can meet increasing mission demands
Works closely with procurement to manage long-lead times for critical materials and mitigate supply chain risks
Partners with the Quality Department to ensure all products meet customer end item requirements
Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment to lead, mentor, and scale a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and floor operators

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field or equivalent education and experience
15+ years related experience in operations roles
In-depth knowledge of aerospace and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) manufacturing processes, CI, quality control, procurement and supply chain management
Understanding assembly of complex electromechanical systems, and handling and assembly of energetics/explosives
Must be eligible and capable of obtaining/maintaining a U.S. Security Clearance
Familiarity with DOD 4145.26M Contractor Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives, ISO9000/AS9100 quality standards and ITAR/EAR export controls
Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
Ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor technicians to C-suite executives
Financial acumen and budget management experience
Adaptability to industry changes and technological advancements
