Patient Financial Counselor - PMG CP Hematology Oncology

The Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for assisting patients and their families with financial inquiries and education regarding sponsorship programs, while acting as a liaison to the billing office and sponsoring hospital.

Responsibilities
Handles the direct interaction with patients and their families during difficult times
Providing financial insurance and payment information to assist them in planning and managing their account balances related to specific services performed in the clinic
Educates patients on the various sponsorship programs available to them
Is the liaison to the PBO/RBO and the sponsoring hospital
Qualification
Required
3 years of experience in a Business Office, preferably in a financial/billing position
Experience with medical and health plan terminology, CPT codes, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding
Preferred
Coursework/Training: College coursework
Experience with medical specialty
