Responsibilities
Lead civil site design for land development projects: grading, drainage, stormwater, water, sewer, and roadway/parking
Oversee production of plan sets in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or equivalent) and ensure compliance with local standards
Perform/oversee hydrology & hydraulics and stormwater design calculations and modeling
Manage permitting and agency coordination: prepare submittals, attend meetings, respond to review comments, and secure approvals
Provide technical direction and QA/QC review of designs, exhibits, and reports
Mentor and guide junior engineers/designers; delegate tasks and support professional growth
Support project management activities: scope, schedule, budgets, change management, and client communication
Provide construction-phase support: RFIs, submittal reviews, field observations, and issue resolution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related)
6+ years of experience in land development / site civil engineering
Demonstrated experience delivering projects through entitlements/permitting and into construction
Strong knowledge of grading, utilities, stormwater design, and applicable local criteria/standards
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional coordination
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within [X] months if already eligible)
Experience with stormwater tools such as HydroCAD, ICPR, SWMM, HEC (as applicable)
Experience managing multiple active projects and mentoring teams
Familiarity with cost estimating, constructability, and value engineering for site development
Experience with project types: commercial / residential / industrial / healthcare / mixed-use
