Responsibilities

Assist in developing and documenting processes and Standard Operating Procedures for player and family engagement requests, appearances, and related logistics
Coordinate communication and coverage for player engagement activities, including appearances, community events, and family-focused programs
Travel to select road cities to provide family support as requested by the Director of Team Travel
Assist in managing family room operations, including scheduling game-day staff, coordinating family trip and postseason coverage, and monitoring childcare services
Maintain a clear communication platform for significant others regarding community events, travel dates and hotels, additional hotel requests, childcare, parking, and ballpark wayfinding
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (community, sponsorship, ballpark operations, team travel) to support family and community events and create opportunities with partners
Serve as a main point of contact for visiting team family relations, including greeting buses, providing wayfinding, wristbands, and support with ticket or access issues
Support day-to-day operations by checking and stocking the family room, assisting with childcare logistics, and responding to inquiries from significant others
Maintain and update databases for significant others and assist with roster-related updates that impact family communication and logistics
Coordinate vendors, parking, and tickets for player and family events, including set-up and tear-down of programs and special occasions
Assist with personal touchpoints such as condolence and congratulations flowers and birthday/anniversary cards for players and families

Required

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with players, significant others, staff, and external partners
Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and requests in a fast-paced environment (game days, road trips, postseason)
High attention to detail and follow-through in managing logistics, communication, and confidential information
Demonstrated customer-service mindset and player-/family-centric approach in all interactions
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the baseball schedule
Comfort working both independently and as part of a collaborative front office team
Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn internal databases and communication platforms
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as sports management, communications, business, hospitality, event management, or a similar discipline
Prior experience (internship, fellowship, volunteer, or entry-level role) in sports, events, hospitality, or customer service is preferred
Experience working with athletes, teams, or high-profile clients is a plus but not required
Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus, particularly in languages commonly spoken by MLB players and families
Demonstrates the ability to read, speak, comprehend, and communicate effectively in order to perform job duties and interact with coworkers
Represents the Cleveland Guardians in a positive fashion to all business partners, teammates, and the general public
Ability to build robust, professional relationships with teammates by demonstrating interpersonal skills, approachability, and a collaborative spirit contributing to a positive, respectful work environment
Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the role as outlined in the job description, which may include extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, or navigating a multilevel ballpark
Adapts quickly and effectively to a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse work environment
Ability to act according to the organizational values and service excellence at all times
Willingness to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends
Willingness to adhere to all Major League Baseball and Club policies
