Quality Inspector and/or Fluorescent Penetrant Inspector
MW Components is seeking a meticulous Quality/Fluorescent Penetrant Inspector to perform mechanical and manual inspections in an aerospace machine shop environment. The role involves dimensional and visual inspection of machined and fabricated parts to ensure conformance to drawings and other requirements, while maintaining detailed documentation and collaborating with manufacturing management to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities
Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices and working in a CNC machining job shop environment
Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications that include GD&T and knowledge of ANSI drawing standards
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from specifications
Review lab test results to ensure all operations have been properly performed and recorded
Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), including set up, verification and inspection of miscellaneous parts, gages and tooling as required
Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments to include optical comparators, faro arm, caliper, micrometer, height gages, etc
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Florescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience preferred
Ability to interpret relevant welding codes and standards, such as those from the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) a plus
Knowledge of AS9100 certified quality systems. Ability to complete AS9102 First Article Inspections and various reports
Must be experience with MS Windows based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Record inspection data, complete quality reports, and maintain detailed documentation
Performs first piece, in process, and final inspections. Has the authority to stop production if parts do not pass
Communicate results to designated management and engineering personnel
When necessary, collaborate with manufacturing management and engineering to resolve quality issues
Maintain Plant Calibration Program, validate accuracy of inspection devices and equipment
Maintain Tool Check-out Program
Teach manufacturing employees the correct use or how to use measurement devices
Prepare required Customer requested Quality documents for shipments
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications etc
Maintain safe, healthy and orderly work environment by following all clean-up and housekeeping procedures
Highly engaged in team work to satisfy KPIs and goals

Knowledge of and ability to use enterprise software (Visual/Uni-Point)
May lift up to 50 lbs
Know how to use basic and other quality tools such as Optical Comparator, CMM
Use of/application experience with process capability, SPC and problem analysis
Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 and other industry standards
High School Diploma Required
Minimum 3 years mechanical inspection in manufacturing environment required, 5 years or more desired
Work experience as a Welding Inspector or similar role in the aerospace industry
Minimum 1-year FAIR IAW AS9102 experience
GD&T knowledge with experience measuring dimensions within .0001
Fundamental understanding of the activities and requirements of the Quality Department
Preferred
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Florescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience preferred
