Senior Accountant
Hartzell Propeller, a leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Accountant for its MRO division. The role involves managing financial reporting, accounts payable, and payroll while ensuring compliance with internal policies and supporting the financial health of the division.

Responsibilities
Manage and reconcile key balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate balances
Work with local site finance personnel to educate on proper accounting treatment
Build out and own rollforwards to track key accounts for audit purposes
Perform variance and flux analysis for both balance sheet accounts and the income statement
Take ownership of journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end close activities, while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance controls and improve efficiencies
Review trial balances and financial statements to spot irregularities
Investigate and remediate when necessary
Be the subject matter expert on month end close deliverables
Work with local site finance personnel to continually improve their knowledge of the close process
Manage the close processes for the sites from end to end depending on individual needs
Prepare and present budget variance and fluctuation analyses and provide explanation to support findings
Assist in AP coding where needed
Drive and implement continuous improvement projects
Gather information for tax purposes and audits
Ensure internal and SOX controls are followed and documented
Provide appropriate administrative support as needed for the team
Backup for local accounting site functions
Provide patient guidance and mentorship to local site finance personnel as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline (required)
3-5+ years of experience
Understanding of a chart of accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations
Demonstrated knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, including the ability to articulate and establish accounting processes from the ground up
Experience operating within an environment governed by internal controls, with a focus on compliance and accuracy
Proficient Computer Skills – MS Office
Excel functionality
Effective and professional electronic communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
An ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, concise manner
Capable of tailoring communication to promote understanding for non-financial audience, ensuring understanding and alignment across departments
Demonstrates strong action-oriented skills and persistence in achieving goals
Acts in alignment with the organization's core values and ethical standards
Develops and maintains collaborative and productive relationships across teams

Preferred
Experience with OneStream, Netsuite, and/or Quickbooks is a plus
